People don’t need a bike. They need their bike.

Elevated Ebikes, an independent shop in Arvada, Colorado, had built a reputation on personal service, but its identity didn’t reflect what made the shop different. The old logo and materials could have belonged to any bike shop. I refreshed the brand so the care customers get in person shows up in everything they see.

Most bike marketing leads with specs. This shop’s strength is helping each customer find the right bike for their life. So the identity speaks in two voices: printed specs carry the facts, and handwriting carries the fit, like a customer’s name or a note about who a bike is for. Together they show both sides of the shop: it knows the bikes, and it knows its customers. That idea shaped everything from the voice to the smallest detail on a handwritten price tag.

The system at work on the pieces customers handle every day: business cards, price tags and shop apparel.

Elevated Ebikes business cards on a terrazzo step: a black front with the ELEVATED EBIKES logo, and a white back with the owner’s name and title, a handwritten note reading It’s a match, the shop’s phone, website and Lamar St address, and the peak mark
Front of the Elevated Ebikes price tag: the logo over printed write-in lines for model, motor, range, frame, weight and price, with a handwritten-style line at the bottom
Front: the owner fills in the specs; the script line shows where the note sits.
Back of the Elevated Ebikes price tag: a blank framed panel titled It’s a match in handwriting, with the peak mark in the corner
Back: room for a note about who the bike is for.

Every choice is designed to make the handwriting mean something. Archivo and Plex Mono handle the technical side, keeping specs clear and straightforward. Longhand LP handles the human side, used sparingly so a handwritten note still feels personal.

The palette follows the same thinking. Ink, Concrete and Chalk provide a neutral foundation, while Leather and Wine add warmth without competing with the handwritten details.

The original logo ran a jagged mountain line through heavy italic caps, and it broke down at small sizes on tags, receipts and a phone screen. The refresh keeps the mountain and simplifies everything around it, so one lockup works from a storefront sign to an Instagram avatar.

02 · What changed

The mountain

A jagged line across the whole word became one small peak that holds up at any size.

The wordmark

Heavy italic caps became wide, evenly spaced letters with a custom A.

The family

One lockup, built to extend to other businesses with a new descriptor.
